So, Now if you’re using illegal drugs you’re an accessory to murder?. They should make this law – lol!

If you’re using illegal drugs, you’re accessory to murder.

Regarding all of the violence associated with the drug cartels in Mexico being visited on Americans not to mention the people of Mexico, I hear folks saying, “That is terrible. Why doesn’t someone do something about it?” Then I suspect that many of these same concerned citizens go on home, kick back and light up a joint or maybe they even might lay out a line of coke or some other drug of choice.

The war on drugs will not succeed until the demand for drugs in this country is either sharply curtailed or eliminated all together, and realistically the latter will never happen.

I feel that anyone who contributes to the proliferation of drugs is as guilty of the murders of these people, and the atrocities they incur, as the cartel members who pull the trigger or wield the machete, no matter how insignificant their drug use may be. As a side note, I would add that anyone associated with the failed Fast and Furious debacle also should be held accountable as accessories in any murders resulting in this asinine endeavor.

Hardy har har. All drugs on the table: Caffeine, Nicotine, Alcohol, Sugar and schedule I’s, Which is worse? Which is responsible for more deaths in America? Or whom? Lobbyist, Anheusur-Busch, big pharma. What country do we occupy that is responsible for the majority of all opiate production in the world? Afghanistan. “Fast and Furious”, who really cares, how about Iran-Contra? Weapons sold by President Reagan’s administration to Iran in order to fund the Nicaraguan rebels overthrowing their sovereign government. All signs point to Mexico does it? Hardy har har.

Susan JeffersonAs someone who was born and raised in an Arizona border town, I say Kudos to you, Darl, and thank you for acknowledging this truth. I personally don’t have a problem with people smoking marijuana … but because it is currently illegal, we have to face the fact that the purchase of pot from any one tied to a Mexican source is accountable to the thousands who have lost their lives to the drug cartels in Mexico. End of story. I am stunned by the hypocrisy of some who proclaim to be humanatarians but refuse to acknowledge their part in the brutal deaths of those caught up in the drug wars. Until Marijuana becomes legal … they are just as culpable as anyone wielding a machete or an AK-47. …. As a side note, I am also floored by those who refuse to acknowledge the DOJ’s corruption in the involvement of “Fast and Furious”. Too many heads buried in the sand.

How many drug users are capable of responding to the logic of this piece by quitting? Many of them are so hooked that their world is narrowed to getting high and planning to get high. Could someone tell me what the “Fast & Furious debacle” is?

Darl Mills · Galion High School
The FAST AND FURIOUS debacle was a plan formulated by the Justice Department, where-by the government allowed gun dealers to sell guns to questionable folks with questionable backgrounds, (sometime hundreds at a time) figuring that they would be able to follow the guns into Mexico and find out who the big shots were and bust the whole organization Unfortunately they lost them and they wound up in the hands of the Drug Cartels with no appreciable arrests, and many were used in violent murders of hundreds of Mexican and American Citizens, as well as at least two Border Patrol Agents.
Eric Holder the United States Attorney General, fired one poor soul, they used as a scape goat, but will not take any responsibility for the Fiasco, claiming he knew nothing about it, but there are Emails from him which prove that denial to be patently false. He should be fired but, President Obama, who appointed him, supports his asinine claim, for fear of losing face. It is my humble opinion, he is fresh out of face to lose.
It is also my opinion that drug DEALERS should be charged with accessories to Murder, because they are killing folks every day.
    Thanks D. Mills

Spot on Darl and I whole heartedly agree. Unfortunately the ignorant knee jerk reaction by the dream world leftists is to call for legalizing drugs and to put strict control on firearms. It was the intent of the Obama Admin to create a need for gun control through the Fast and Furious debacle. Two of these weapons were traced to the murders of two border patrol agents and others recovered at the scenes of Mexican murders. The thought of legalizing drugs to stop the Cartel viollence and strict gun control is a very, very scary thought indeed.

Although most people don’t realize it, most Americans do not smoke “imported” pot. Most people smoke good old American grown ganja. It is considered by many experts to be the single largest domestic cash crop in the US.
This dudes statement is like saying you should sue a vehicle maker because a drunk was driving one of their cars or trucks and was involved in an accident that injured or killed someone. Heck while we’re at it let’s sue the brewery or distillery that made the alcohol and the store that sold it.

so, the ” ole hippie ” who just smokes a little weed that he grows for personal consumption is an accessory to murder? i think not, as none of his/her money goes anywhere but into the local economy… i say, legalize pot, and upon conviction of sellin’ hard drugs, the ” dealer/sales rep” should be intravenously terminated with their own product. crack, heroin, meth, bathsalts, what ever they sell, shot right up their arms… those folks who complain about ” cruel & unusual punishment ” for those ” poor misguided victims of bad childhoods ” would rather slap their hands & let them go may wish to crucify me over this, but in my opinion, those folks are the ones that let the problem arise.

I’ll never forget the week I was in Colombia on business several years ago. It was a wonderful experience, but one of the not-so-wonderful moments was when a FARC terrorist blew up a police station in the same city I was staying at the time (Bogota). The bomb killed 4 and injured 11; it never made the international news. I used to be a “live and let live” kind of guy until I realized that the FARC are largely funded by the illegal drug trade. Nowadays it seems Colombia is getting safer, while Mexico is being what Colombia used to be, due to the same reasons. Right on, Darl!

Charles Sheltonummm, no…It should read ‘if you are keeping drugs illegal, you’re accessory to murder.

Charles Sheltonsaying drug users help murderers is like saying driving a car means you help the guy driving the oil taker create theoil spill. Horrible logic.

I believe everything natural should not be illegal, medicines (drugs) have a basis that is God given, just as mankind has destroyed everything in it’s path to make man-made better than God (nature) made. There are hundreds of medicinal plants, not just marijuana, opium poppys or coca bushes. If you really want to end drug abuse.. stop cramming “this little pill will fix you” down everybodys throat…. all the “miracle drugs” that are man-made and advertised until popping a pill is “normal”. Personally, I think tobacco was not a “deadly addictive drug” until mankind added all their petro-chemicles to the mix, the same with opium and cocaine and caffine, and alcohol and sugar. Individual soverignty and responsibility for your own life and your own choices!

Actually, I would say with all the METRICH’s of the world who fleece the taxpayer on the premise that they can STOP drugs is more of an accessory to murder than anything else. If drugs were legal, it would make more sense given we have a drug court specially designed for this. Don’t you think IF we are going to have a specialized court for drug users to get a slap on the wrist & second chance that we are defeating the purpose of drugs being “illegal” in the first place?. Maybe we should look at those in the justice system and/or law enforcement who use them as well to fix this problem?, MANY people know or have known folks who enforce or protect the laws who break them as well getting professional courtesy & immunity – how is this fair?. Double standard or hypocrisy???

Dave Montey · Top commenter · Ontario, Ohio
These idiots are wasting billions on fighting marijuana when in reality alcohol is and has been a much bigger threat. They will not legalize it due to the fact Metrich and these other clowns would have nothing to do otherwise. This person that wrote this editorial has no basic concept of reality…

I agree Dave, but lets add poppies grown in Afghanistan which has been made legal. This writer probably thinks we are fighting in the Middle East for oil?, when actually we are there protecting the Worlds number one crop that kills!. Poppies make illegal Heroin, and the many varieties of opiate driven pain killers. This hypocrite probably don’t realize we have a Judge who was a known opiate abuser who is now part of the corrupt justice system. I agree with Darlene, not Darl – we need these drugs legalized immediately and controlled in another manner. Remember the OLD saying, “keep your friends close, and your enemies closer” ?. I believe this is the BEST way to go about the drug problem, knowing who’s doing what. Keeping them illegal is THE Accessory to murder!.
