Informant in botched Mansfield drug sting dies in prison

Interesting to say the least, and that what the AP did, gave us the least.

They could have told you that the lying Metcalf who botched this case was later given professional courtesy and allowed to retire under disability. (You have to love brotherhood)

No comments on the MNJ, why do I find this strange?.

CLEVELAND (AP) — A paid informant who says he framed 17 people with a federal drug agent has died in prison.

Jerrell Bray was an informant for Drug Enforcement Administration agent Lee Lucas in a botched 2005 Mansfield drug sting.

Lucas was acquitted in 2010 of charges he framed suspects, while Bray pleaded guilty to perjury and civil rights violations against those targeted in his role as an informant.

Federal prisons spokesman Chris Burke said Friday that the 40-year-old Bray died Sept. 9 at a medium security prison in Butner, N.C.

Burke said he did not have a cause of death.

John McCaffrey, Bray’s former attorney, told The Plain Dealer he was saddened by the news but heartened that Bray revealed his conduct in a badly botched DEA investigation.
