Probe of killing cats with dogs is once again ONLY half of the problem the MNJ is sharing with you!

Here’s “their” story, then there’s once again my question of what’s missing in all of this (root cause).

Mansfield cops probe video of dog killing cat

In case the story and comments are removed, yes – I copied!

MANSFIELD — Mansfield police are investigating an animal cruelty case after a tipster reported a man videotaping a pit bull killing a cat at 10:37 p.m. Tuesday.

According to police, three to four men were walking with two pit bulls in the area of Hammond Avenue. One of the dogs was brown with a white patch on its chest. The other was black and white.

The tipster said he watched the men chase cats out from under parked cars toward the dogs, who caught and killed them. According to the report, one of the men used a cellphone to record the attack.

When officers arrived, they found a dead cat on the sidewalk but could not locate the suspects. Police said they canvassed the neighborhood to no avail, although they believe the suspects live in the neighborhood.

A copy of the police report was forwarded to the Richland County Dog Warden’s Office.

Dog Warden Dave Jordan said a person could face a second-degree misdemeanor, which could net the offender a maximum 90-day jail sentence and a $750 fine.

WHAT WE SEEM TO BE FORGETTING HERE IS THE FACT THESE CATS ARE RUNNING WILD! – WHERE’S THE OWNERS, WHO’S THE OWNERS, DO THEY HAVE TO HAVE LICENSES FOR THEIR CATS THAT ROAM FREELY, AND WILL THEY BE FINED? WHILE I DON’T CONDONE THESE KILLERS BEHAVIOR WE FIRST NEED TAKE A STEP BACK AND ASK WHY THEY DID THIS? SOMETIMES WE CAN LEARN FROM THOSE WITH BAD BEHAVIOR TO SEE WHY THEY DO THINGS, THIS SHOULD NOT BE ANY DIFFERENT. TO ME THIS IS NOT A CRISIS, MORE OF A LYNCHING THAT RESULTS FROM ANOTHER ISSUE – “CATS RUNNING WILD”, AND THINGS IN THE WILD DIE ALL THE TIME. WANT THIS PROBLEM FIXED?, THEN GET THESE OWNERS RESPONSIBLE FOR MAKING SURE THEIR ANIMALS ARE WHERE THEY SHOULD BE, IF THIS HAPPENED ON PUBLIC PROPERTY AND THE CATS ARE NOT CONTROLLED, I DON’T SEE THE CAT LOVERS PLEA. IF “YOU” DON’T LIKE THIS, THEN “YOU” ARE PART OF THE PROBLEM! IF AMERICANS LET THEIR CHILDREN OUT AND THEY HURT, IT’S CHILD ENDANGERMENT – THIS SHOULD BE NO DIFFERENT!

JUST LIKE I TOLD THEM AT THE HOSPITAL THE OTHER DAY!, WE CARE FOR ANIMALS BETTER THAN WE DO HUMAN BEINGS!

Awful…………run them out of their hole and prosecute them.
DON’T FORGET TO PROSECUTE THE CAT OWNERS WHILE YOU’RE AT IT! THEY SHOULD BE HELD ACCOUNTABLE FOR NOT HAVING THEM ON A LEASE PUTTING THEM IN HARMS WAY! I FOR ONE DON’T LIKE CATS WALKING ON MY CAR I WORKED HARD FOR, IT’S NOT CUTE ANYMORE!

Better yet heard them and their worthless dogs into the middle of the street and either stone them to death or run over them a few times. I AGREE IT’S NOT ALL THE DOGS FAULT IF THEY WERE ON A LEASH.

If my breed was the choice of sociopaths and those who enjoy sadistic activities such as this, if my breed was breeding and dying like flies, if my breed was the dog that essentially ALL USA dog fighters choose to abuse, if my breed was the dog causing the most dismemberment and deaths to other pets and to people, I would work daily to enact and enforce mandatory spay/neuter microchipping of all of my breed. I would work to cause my breed to become extinct. Extinct is better than a million too many pits being born in the US, with the result of that many dying pounds, filling the dumpsters. Extinct is the short brutal lives that many pits endure. But then I’m not a selfish, short-sighted, cruel pit BULLY person. I DON’T BELIEVE YOU KNOW WHAT A SOCIOPATH IS, THESE GUYS WERE NOT DECEIVING ANYONE LIKE THIS ARTICLE DOES. ANIMAL LOVERS MUST BEAR SOME RESPONSIBILITY IN THIS. IF MY CHILD WERE TO GET HURT, CHILDREN SERVICES WOULD BE CALLED – SAY IT’S NOT SO!

Just when you think you have heard it all. Pit bull owners procuring live cats for their maulers to kill. How do people get this sick?· THE SAME WAY THEY GET WHEN LEAVING THEIR ANIMALS TO ROAM WILD! – WHO’S REALLY THE SICK ONE HERE? THOSE WHO ARE SICK OF CATS RUNNING WILD AND BEING DROPPED OFF ALL OVER THE COUNTY, OR THOSE WHO OWN AND DON’T PROTECT THEM! – WERE THESE CATS ON A LEASH?

A peer-reviewed study published in the November 16, 2006 ediition of the Journal of Interpersonal Violence revealed that among a sampling of 355 people who keep pet dogs, all who keep pit bulls turned out to have had some sort of trouble with the law. 30% of the people in the sampling who had been cited at least once for failing to license a pit bull were found to have had at least five criminal convictions or traffic citations. Explained lead study author Jaclyn Barnes of the Cincinnati Children’s Hospital Medical Center, “Owners of vicious dogs [mostly pit bulls] who have been cited for failing to register a dog (or) failing to keep a dog confined on the premises… are more than nine times more likely to have been convicted for a crime involving children, three times more likely to have been convicted of domestic violence… and nearly eight times more likely to be charged with drug (crimes) than owners of low-risk licensed dogs.” Co-authors included Frank W. Putnam of the Cincinnati Children’s Hospital Medical Center; Barbara Boat of the University of Cincinnati, an investigator of animal/human relationships who has often spoken at humane conferences; and Harold Dates and Andrew Mahlman of the Cincinnati SPCA.
