Man beaten by 6 men, or shall we say thugs on Sturges Ave., Said to have been run over by a car?

Story on facebook by Jami Kinton – Thank you Jami for reporting what appears to be a daily occurrence, some of which by reading the comments on your page going unreported. I wonder where the report came from that the man was hit by a car?

The below comment was reported on this Breaking News Alert, anyone know what happened?

Lisa Stone “The worst part is things like this go on in Mansfield every day and never get reported on. For example, August 4th around 2 AM I ran down to Circle K on South Main and noticed a bunch of cops & ambulances on the corner of Rambleside Drive. Looked a little closer and I saw a guy laying on the ground. Went home and listened to the scanner but they were really hush-hush about it. Nothing showed up in the paper or on mansfieldpolicedepartment.com about it, but there’s still a suspicious stain on the concrete where I saw the guy.”

BREAKING NEWS: Call just came in over the scanner as a man who was struck by a car on Sturges Avenue, but witnesses said the man was reportedly jumped by about six men, who viciously beat the victim, screaming, “I hope you die!” Man taken to MedCentral. Waiting for full story from Mansfield Police.

  • Lynn Couch oh no!….so sad!
  • Dana Edmonds Keep us updated!!! Thanks!!!
  • Dana Edmonds Good thing the victim didn’t have a legal gun or he would be on trial for his life.
  • Kathy Eby What the heck is wrong with society….I pray the victim is alright!
  • Lisa Russell Dang hope he is ok. What is wrong with people these days.
  • Steven Kirst What is wrong with people. Hope that guy is okay
  • Mary Stewart SMH. They’ll know the difference between injuries from a car and a beating.
  • Michael Lybarger If drugs are not involved the earth will tremble
  • Sam Romagnoli What block of Sturges did this happen at?
  • Jami Kinton Sam, it was near Glessner, right by Joe & Mary’s. Mansfield Police confirmed he was not hit by a car, but do not have a description on the six men, who severely beat the victim, and fled. Working on story now.
  • Carla Drake I’m sure somebody seen it,look at all the spectators, but im sure they didn’t see a thing
  • Cynthia Gray this is awful! poor guy!
  • Jennifer Salvate Oh no….not good
  • Sasha Kay This town is horrible anymore. Praying for the victim.
  • T Caley Caley that’s y I don’t go to Mansfield little detroit
  • Rickey Braggs That’s sad and y does it take that many people for one man and to make threats in front of people like that some one who doesn’t care or respects life
  • Rickey Cross Sadly just another day in good ol Mansfield unfortunately. I hope the person is ok.
  • Luella Harrod Always takes a coward to gang up on somebody. And they always act like the toughest people out there !!!! They are nothing but a disgrace to society. Shame on those 6 individuals. And I pray it wasn’t a drug deal gone bad.
  • Mary Stewart I don’t know who, or why, but this seems to be the preferred method of dealing with someone who has done something to someone else, for some in our society. I suspect we are lucky that no guns were involved. Everyone do ;yourselves a favor, don’t walk the streets alone, especially after dark.
  • Dana Edmonds To the people like me who think drugs are likely to be involved… I am sure the drugs were not pharmaceutical, tobacco, or alcohol. The point is we would be safer from violence if drugs were legalized. I don’t do drugs but I was watching Intervention and there was a girl injecting bleach into her veins to get high! So should we start a war on bleach? The punishment for smoking crack…. well… Smoking crack is punishment enough!
  • Jessica Frontz this is awful I hope they find the bastards who did this maybe someone with info will speak up!! people who do this stuff need shot this world would be better without those THUGS!!!!!!!!!!!!
  • Shelby Gibson Let’s not jump to conclusions here. If this happened on Woodhill or Dickson I bet people wouldn’t automatically assume drugs were a factor. From the little details known, it sounds to me like a very personal vendetta. If someone is going to rob you for drugs, they usually pistol whip you or knock you out, empty your pockets, take your shoes, and leave. They don’t scream “I hope you die”
  • Dana Edmonds Shelby has a good point. Drug violence is so common I would just like it to end. I am willing to bet drugs are likely behind the vendetta.
  • Dale Poling OH NO… I would bet it was people with blue eyes??
  • Dana Edmonds Ill take that bet Dale.
  • Shelby Gibson Its possible, i understand that. But let’s not take the victim down a notch by somehow insinuating he was playing with fire. That could not be the case.
  • Shelby Gibson I mean that could be a friend or relative of any one of us and we could just not know it yet. At least let the story come out before judging the man
  • Kelli Stover Noble from where I sit, this person had to do something pretty bad for people to wish him dead while they’re beating on him. I’ll hold my pity until the whole story comes out – just stop and think – what would make people THAT mad to attack this man…..ya just never knowwhat he’s done to incur such wrath
  • Jessica Frontz the only reason some should get beat like that is if the abused a child or something like that I highly doubt that though……those kind of people think the world owes them something……the guy who was beat up prob looked cross eyed to one of them and it was disrespectful……..what about the guy a couple of weeks ago getting shot bc he told the car to slow down then the bastard came back and shot him……the man was just protecting his kid!!!!!!!
  • Jessica Frontz Mansfield sucks!!!!!!!!!!!!! and look at the common denominator im sorry to say buts its the truth
  • Ben Caudill Six on one single dude really. If he hade his carry and was packing this would of been a different story. Thugs jumped man and all six weak worthless men got shot. I would call him a hero then.
  • Adam McAuley Just another tale of people having no respect for each other. Humans have been around for close to 5000 years and don’t realize were all brothers and sister in this family of mankind. Time to act your age, learn what it truly means to be an Adult. When you are over 18, shit gets real, real fast and if you act irresponsible the law tends to frown on grown men acting without even thinking. First, you do a couple month bid in County. Get out and don’t change your habits, because you can only think about serving easy, County time. If you ever get caught. But this time you’re sent away for 10 years. As soon as you cross the gate, it’s time to say goodbye to the life you led up to that moment, because your ass is state correction till your release date.
  • Adam McAuley and even if you survived your stretch, there’s one shocking fact is 4 out of 10, will be back before Christmas. Recedivism, what makes the penal institute a booming busineness
  • Amy Archer All I’m going to say is this look at the location, people are a creature of habit they will strike again

  • Ben Caudill Because Mansfield is dirty Lisa.
  • Lisa Stone No question about that Ben. I lived down on Blymyer for a while and believe me, I’ve seen some stuff that’s never gone to print.
  • Ben Caudill I lived in Mansfield once. The “nice part of town” I was told. My car gotten broke into so many times I left it unlocked with the keys. I got sick of replacing windows. Never once have I had anything stolen, vandalized or messed with in my little town growing up to today. I’m less then 6 miles away. Im glad i moved back. Jami keeps me posted on all the latest happenings.
  • Amy Archer Their is NO “good part” of Mansfield you can hope you your neighborhood is ok but never great I was told when I moved to Mansfield that from Spitzers on over to 4th is the hood and not to move their but the way I see it is that its not just 4th its everywhere people simply have no common sense. And their is no respect for man kind
  • Linda Werman Brawner Yeah. I heard that Mansfield is not good when I moved here 25 years ago. Despite that I really enjoy the house I still live in. I’ve had to beef up security measures but that’s life in America. I get to see deer, wild turkey, ground hogs from my windows and yes I am in the city limits.

Everyone wondering what’s wrong with people, but FAIL to realize the City, County, and State are broke and Laws changed prevent anyone from doing anything right! Adam is right, recidivism does not work when you have professional courtesy, immunity, and a depending on WHO YOU ARE slap on the wrist Court system that MANY here know all too well. Many Mansfielder’s have track records a mile long, and NO DOUBT these thugs when caught will prove that fact.

Have a great day Mansfielders, this is just another ploy that “crime will soar” if you don’t anti up. I suggest you get a gun, and video camera and take matters in your own hands. Time to clean these streets the old fashioned way! Bang bang and have it on tape so when the prosecutors who protect these thugs for the corrupt courts gain you can blow them out of the water, besides…Mansfield is the “DEAL” capital, NO CHANCE of going to trial if your not guilty or have your own evidence.
