Is Ashland schools hiding something in regards to the upcoming strike?

Ashland schools may see a strike – Full story here!

Quote from story – “After an executive session Tuesday night, the board released a statement: “The board believes our final and best offer must stand as the most fair and equitable manner to maintain the services of valuable employees. The board’s significant concerns include our position that the board cannot continue to automatically offer higher wages, cannot continue to give pay for hours not actually worked, cannot continue to guarantee that OAPSE’s benefits match those negotiated by ACTA and cannot continue to remove disciplinary actions from personnel files.”

I can see the Boards point on these items, but don’t you think it’s fair that you include the teachers side to this public debate. It appears by reading comments that something is getting hidden between the cracks.

We are not asking for a wage increase. That is untrue. They put wording into our contract to change our bidding rights on jobs which would make the process totally unfair. It includes absenteeism, which can include surgeries, death in the family ANYTHING they want to include in it.
